My home reading

You know, I read part of very interesting book this spring by Richard Blackmor. It is entitled "Lorna Doone". The main characters of the book are Lorna Doone, John Ridd and John Fry - the farm worker on the Ridd's farm. And I'd like to tell you this story. That's how it all began.
On a cold day of november to people were riding on the horseback along a road in the south-west of England. One of them was John Ridd, a boy, only twelve years old, but he looked much older. His companion, John Fry, was an old man, who woked on the Ridd's farm. The The young John returned home from the town of Tiverton, where he studied. They road in silence and John Ridd asked his companion why he had come to take him home that day, if winter holidays begin only in two weeks, and why his fatherhad't come for him. The jld man answered, that he was very busy and he would meet them near the farm. The farm-worker asked John who was the young woman near the inn and knew, that she was the maid of a rich lady, who was staying at the inn for a few hours. And after that he didn't ask any more questions.
